Military Gear

Military gear is a type of equipment that is designed for specific purposes. It can be anything from a pair of tactical pants with more pockets to a utility vest or even body armor. These products are aimed at people who work in the military, police officers, and Airsoft / MilSim players.

Level five

The level five Military Gear is part of the US Army’s ECWCS (Extended Cold Weather Clothing System). Its jacket and pants offer heavy-duty protection against extreme temperatures. It’s also lighter and more compact than previous versions. In addition, it incorporates near infrared signature reduction technology to increase soldier survivability. It is designed for use in a wide range of conditions and can be worn with various insulative layers.

The Level 5 garments are issued to soldiers who haven’t transitioned to the new PCU (Protective Combat Uniform) system. It consists of a jacket and pants, which are made from a Gore-Tex material. It has a windproof finish and helps retain 300% more body heat than a normal shirt. The Level 5 jacket and pants can be worn on top of other insulating clothing, including the PCU level 2 outer shell.

During the testing phase for the PCU, the Army was looking for something that could handle extreme drops and rises in temperature. The PCU was developed by the Army Soldier Systems Center-Natick in response to this need. It’s a modular system, so each soldier can choose which parts of the clothing they want to wear depending on the environment and mission.

The PCU level 5 is available for civilians through ORC Industries and SEKRI, but it can be expensive. It’s a popular choice for airsoft players because it provides great protection at an affordable price. It can even be bought online, though it may take longer to ship than a civilian version.

The level 5 jacket and trousers can be worn in most environments, from a snowy mountaintop to a swampy jungle. It’s designed to be used in combination with other levels of the system, such as the level 3 soft-shell layer. It can be worn over a standard camouflage uniform or the level 4 wind shirt. It is a low-profile garment, and its oversized pockets are great for storing equipment. The jacket has an insulated hood that can be modified with 550 paracord for additional protection. Lastly, it has zippered sections on the leg and waist cuffs for donning over boots.

Level six

Level six military gear is designed for cold, wet weather conditions. It is worn over level five to create a hard shell layer that protects soldiers from prolonged periods of alternating freezing and thawing and wet ground conditions. It also provides protection from abrasion and moisture, and can be adorned with rank badges and name tapes. These garments are made of a rugged, waterproof GORE-TEX fabric. They are also insulated and include zippered pockets, nylon reinforced elbows, and a collapsible hood that stows in the collar. These garments are issued directly by the Army and are not available for civilian purchase.

The level five jacket and pants are designed for non-freezing temperatures in sedentary scenarios, while the Level seven parka and trousers are for Arctic-like environments and can be worn with all other levels to provide maximum insulation. They are rated to -60°F and have a dual-layer, seam-sealed GORE-TEX fabric that offers elite weather protection. The level five parka and pants are roomy enough to fit over body armor, but they are not designed for high abrasion activities like low-crawling over rocks.

These cold weather clothes are used in the US Army’s ECWCS and PCU clothing systems. The ECWCS system is an insulative layering strategy that uses different combinations of layers to protect soldiers in a variety of climates and situations. It includes a level four wind shirt, which is lightweight and helps retain up to 300% more heat than without it. It can be rolled up and stuffed in a cargo pocket.

In addition to these garments, military personnel use level III body armor for protection against rifle rounds. Level III armor is more rigid than II and IIIA, and it usually consists of hard plates rather than soft armor. It is heavier than soft armor, but it can protect against a wider range of ammunition and blunt force injuries. Some suppliers also offer level IIIA+ body armor, which offers additional protection against shotgun rounds and FN 5.7 ammunition. This is not officially approved by NIJ, but it is becoming increasingly popular for niche uses.

Level seven

The level seven Military Gear is an extremely lightweight set of clothing that can be used to combat cold weather conditions. The jacket and pants are incredibly light and pack up small, making them a great addition to a winterized bug out bag. They also feature “Primaloft” high-loft insulation that retains its insulating properties even when wet. The jacket also features nylon reinforced knees and elbows, as well as a collapsible insulated hood that can be stowed away inside the hood when not in use.

This level of PCU (Protected Combat Uniform) is a bit more specialized than the levels 5, 6, and 7. This specific set of garments protects against extreme cold weather environments and is ideal for static conditions. This particular set of Level 7 PCU is made up of a parka jacket and trousers that are designed to be worn over other PCU layers. The trousers are extremely cold weather resistant and feature a flannel liner to keep the wearer warm. The jacket is also insulated, but unlike the other insulating jackets in the level 7 set, this one has a shingled Primaloft construction that effectively doubles its insulation.

In addition to the PCU Level 7 jacket and pants, this level also includes a wind shirt and gloves. The wind shirt is designed to be layered in between the various pieces of PCU clothing, and helps to reduce friction between insulation layers. It also provides additional moisture management by wicking sweat to the outer layer of the garment.

Level seven PCU armor is designed to be used early in the game for a light level of protection against enemies and environmental hazards. It is lighter than other armor sets and doesn’t impose any penalties to movement or endurance. It can be used in conjunction with any armor mods that the player has, and it benefits from the Light Armor perk governed by the Agility attribute.

Whether you are looking for long-lasting durability or just a good bang for your buck, military surplus is a great option. GI surplus items such as field jackets, BDU’s, load bearing vests, ammo cans and more can all be purchased online or at your local military store.

Level four

The level four parka and pants offer heavy-duty cold weather protection and are issued directly by the military. They are ideal for sedentary tasks and are worn with other layers to protect the wearer from extreme temperatures. The fabric is made with a waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX material to keep soldiers comfortable while protecting them from the elements. They can be worn with a limited number of base layers and should not be used for strenuous activity to prevent overheating.

This level of body armor is designed to stop rifle rounds and other military-grade ballistic threats. Level four plates are typically made of ceramic and steel composites, but the NIJ certification process also requires other important tests like drop testing, water submersion, temperature cycle chambers and more. Level 4 plates can weigh anywhere from a few pounds each to 9 pounds each, depending on the manufacturer’s design and size. Plates are typically 1 inch thick, but some manufacturers produce thinner “plates” known as ICW or In Conjunction With which require another layer of backing material like a IIIA vest to achieve the same level of performance.

The RMA 1189 is a good example of a level 4 plate that uses a patented ceramic pattern array to control the damage caused by each bullet strike. These plates are much lighter than traditional steel body armor, but they are also more expensive. It is important to remember that survival in a hail of bullets doesn’t come down to how well your body armor stops them, but rather whether you can escape or end the conflict.
